권오란 프로필 사진
권오란 교수는 식품영양학과 소속 교수로 기능성식품 분야 연구의 권위자이다. 1992년 이화여자대학교에서 박사학위를 받은 후, 국립보건원과 식품의약품안전청에서 18년간 식품정책을 연구하였다. 또한 1995-1997년에는 미국 국립보건원(NIH)에서 박사후연구원으로 비타민 C와 대사체인 dehydroascorbic acid가 서로 다른 운반체를 사용하며, 특별히 dehydroascorbic acid은 특정 포도당 운반체를 공유함을 밝혔다. 이후 2001-2003년에는 같은 연구실에서 식품에 널리 함유되어 있는 플라보노이드가 비타민 C 및 포도당 등 영양소 흡수를 조절하는 기전을 밝힌 바 있다. 식품의약품안전청에서 가장 뚜렷한 업적은 건강기능식품법 및 관련 규정 제정에 중요한 역할을 담당한 것이다. 2008년부터는 이화여자대학교에서 식물영양소(phytochemical)의 기능성 연구에 주력하여, 세포·동물·인체 수준에서 전통천연물 및 허브류에 함유된 다양한 기능성분의 작용 및 그 기전에 대한 연구를 진행하고 있다. 기능성식품 산업 규제 및 식물영양소 기능에 대한 연구결과는 관련 학술 저서 및 SCI급 국제학술지에 왕성히 발표하고 있다. 한국영양학회 상임위원, Internaional Life Science Institute 및 International Alliance of Dietary/Food Supplement 과학자문위원, 국무총리실, 농식품부, 식품의약품안전처, 보건복지부 공용IRB 등 정부기관 자문위원으로 활동 중이다.
