이화글로벌사회공헌원은 1월 14일(수) ECC에 위치한 이화글로벌사회공헌원에서 ‘한반도 여성·아동 건강포럼’과 통일 시대를 대비한 한반도 여성·아동의 건강 증진과 지속가능한 사회 발전을 위해 상호협력에 합의하고 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다.
양 기관은 이번 협약을 통해 ▲여성·아동 건강 연구 및 학술 협력 ▲교육 및 인재 양성 협력 ▲정책·거버넌스 및 대외 협력 ▲통일 대비 현장 기반 사회공헌 및 실천 사업(모자보건, 환경 개선 등 국제개발협력 포함) ▲기타 상호 합의한 사업에 대한 협력을 추진한다. 이를 바탕으로 양 기관은 통일 시대를 대비해 한반도 여성·아동 건강 관련 지식 축적을 비롯해 연구·교육·정책 협력 및 현장 기반 인프라 구축을 촉진할 계획이다.
본 협약식에는 이화글로벌사회공헌원 하은희 원장과 ‘한반도 여성·아동 건강포럼’ 강윤희 대표가 참석해, 한반도의 지속가능한 사회 구축을 위한 기반 마련과 함께 여성·아동의 건강과 교육에 대한 권리 보장 및 증진 방안에 대해 의견을 나누었다.
본 원은 이번 협약을 계기로 한반도 여성과 아동의 건강과 교육, 인재 양성을 위한 인프라 구축에 있어 상호 협력이 더욱 강화될 것으로 기대된다. 아울러 ‘한반도 여성·아동 건강포럼’은 통일 시대를 대비해 여성과 아동의 교육 기회와 건강을 증진하고 보호하기 위한 다양한 사업을 전개하고 있기에 이번 MOU가 활동의 지평을 넓히는 데 중요한 계기가 될 것이라 생각한다고 밝혔다.
[EGISE] Strengthening Cooperation for Women’s and Children’s Health and Education Ahead of Korean Reunification N

On January 14, the Ewha Global Institute for Sustainable Partnership and Empowerment (EGISE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korean Peninsula Women and Children’s Health Forum at the EGISE offices located in Ewha Campus Complex (ECC). The agreement aims to promote cooperation to enhance the health of women and children on the Korean Peninsula and to foster sustainable social development in preparation for the era of reunification.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will cooperate in the following areas:
▲ research and academic collaboration on women’s and children’s health
▲ cooperation in education and human resource development
▲ policy, governance, and external cooperation
▲ field-based social contribution and practical projects in preparation for reunification (including maternal and child health,
environmental improvement, and international development cooperation)
▲ other mutually agreed areas of cooperation.
Building on this partnership, the two institutions plan to promote the accumulation of knowledge related to the health of women and children on the Korean Peninsula, as well as to strengthen collaboration in research, education, policy, and the development of field-based infrastructure in preparation for reunification.
The signing ceremony was attended by Eunhee Ha, MD. Ph.D, Director of the EGISE and Kang Yun-hee, Ph.D, Representative of the Korean Peninsula Women and Children’s Health Forum. The participants exchanged views on establishing a foundation for a sustainable society on the Korean Peninsula, as well as on strategies to guarantee and promote the rights to health and education for women and children.
EGISE expressed its expectation that the agreement will further strengthen mutual cooperation in building infrastructure for the health, education, and human resource development of women and children on the Korean Peninsula. Meanwhile, the Korean Peninsula Women and Children’s Health Forum noted that, as it is actively implementing various initiatives to enhance and protect educational opportunities and health for women and children in preparation for reunification, this MOU will serve as an important opportunity to expand the scope of its activities.
