안명환(安明煥) 교수

안명환 프로필 사진
안명환 교수는 대기과학공학과 소속 교수로 원격탐사 및 위성기상학 분야의 권위자다. 미국 메릴랜드 주립대학교의 기상학과에서 위성탑재 분광계 관측자료를 이용한 이산화황, 에어로솔, 오존 산출 알고리즘에 관한 연구로 박사학위를 받았다. 귀국 후에는 기상청에서 우리나라 최초의 정지궤도복합위성인 천리안위성의 개발 초기부터 정책지원, 기상분야 자료처리시스템 개발, 활용분야 개발을 주도하였다. 2010년에는 천리안위성의 성공적인 발사 및 우주궤도에서의 성공적인 실험을 견인하였으며, 이를 발판으로 천리안위성의 후속으로 2018년 발사계획의 정지궤도복합위성 2호(GEO-KOMPSAT-2) 사업 착수를 이끌었고, 2012년부터 대기과학공학과에서 근무하고 있다.

현재는 정지궤도복합위성 2호에 탑재되는 차세대 기상 및 환경관측용 센서의 검보정 기술을 개발하기 위한 연구를 수행하고 있으며, 이와 아울러 위성에서 관측된 원시자료를 활용하여 대기의 연직온습도, 대기안정도, 가강수량 등을 산출하기 위한 알고리즘을 개발하고 있다. 또한, 지상기반의 원격탐사 기기인 마이크로파 복사계 자료의 특성분석 및 관측자료를 이용한 대기의 연직구조를 산출하기 위한 기술개발 등과 같은 연구를 수행하면서, 기상 및 환경분야에서의 원격탐사 분야에서 활발한 연구활동을 수행하고 있다.
