photoThe research team of Professor Kim Eun Mee, Dean of the Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS), has become Korea’s first recipient of research grants from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, one of the world’s largest philanthropic organizations.

The GSIS was selected as a recipient institution to execute research under the theme of “Advocacy for Korean Engagement in Global Health & Development,” and will receive a total grant of 400,000 USD over three years starting from September 2013.

The team consists of Ewha faculty members from a range of disciplines including the Graduate School of International Studies, the School of Medicine, the Department of Women’s Studies, the Department of Public Administration, and the Division of International Studies. The team aims to carry out multidisciplinary and convergent research, and will research policies regarding official development assistance related to Korea’s international healthcare.
