Ewha Womans University’s startup team D.A.L won the grand prize in the field of Living Consumption (a prize money of 120 million won) in virtual business startup competition organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups with its smart menstruation solution platform 'Dal Chaebi'.

'Cheongcheongcon' stands for 'Startup Contest in which senior young entrepreneurs lead younger entrepreneurs', and it was newly organized under the 3rd supplementary budget this year to discover novel virtual startup ideas for young people (under 29 years old).

In order to respond to the Covid-19 situation, ‘Cheongcheongcon’ was limited to six virtual areas such as smart healthcare, education, business/finance, entertainment, daily consumption, and distribution. A total of 783 teams entered into a fierce competition while senior young entrepreneurs who are leading the startup industry participated as evaluators and mentors to evaluate startup items from the perspective of youth.

D.A.L. is a team co-represented by Ewha students Joowon Jung (Business Administration·14), Hanna Kim (Business Administration·15), and Eunha Kim (Environmental Engineering·16). In November of last year, after holding a Menstrual Fair at our university with the support from the LEAP Small Group Activities of the Future Innovation Center, the team have started a business that plans and develops a platform called 'Dal Chaebi' which analyzes women's menstrual type and pattern data to provide optimal menstruation products and medical solutions.

'Dal Chaebi' has won numerous project support programs and competitions, including Preliminary Start-up Packages for the Small and Medium Business Venture Department, Data Voucher Support Projects,  NAVER D2SF CAMPUS TECH ATTACT contest, KINGO-GA KOREA AIBI League Contest, and Seoul Campus Town Investment Attraction Contest. As an item that has been recognized for its marketability and value, its web prototype testing that has started in May is finished and is about to be launched as an official app in early February next year.

Co-CEOs Joowon Jeong, Hanna Kim, and Eunha Kim asked for support from many Ewha people, saying, "Since this is a team that started with the values of Ewha, we will do our best to realize better everyday life for women with technology.
