College of Nursing Holds 2024 Nursing Medal Award Ceremony and Achieve 100% Pass Rate on National Nurse Licensure Exam

The College of Nursing (Dean Kang Youn-hee) held the 2024 Nursing Medal Award Ceremony on Monday, February 17, at POSCO Building Room B153. The event celebrated the 67th graduating class as they embarked on their journey as professional nurses. More than 200 participants including Jung Seung-eun, President of the Nursing Alumnae Association, faculty members, and parents, gathered to congratulate graduates.
The Nursing Medal Award Ceremony is where seniors who will graduate soon reaffirm their dedication to patient care and commitment to the nursing profession and its mission by reciting the Nightingale Pledge. Moderated by Associate Dean Shin Su-jin, the event started with a welcoming speech by Dean Kang Youn-hee, followed by Jung’s congratulatory speech, an academic overview report, the awarding ceremony, the Nightingale Pledge recitation, and the presentation of certificates.
Dean Kang Youn-hee stated, “I sincerely congratulate the 67th graduating class who have diligently cultivated their professional knowledge and skills at Ewha over the past 4 years. I hope you continue to embrace lifelong learning in nursing fields and grow into nursing leaders for new opportunities.” Following her remarks, faculty members awarded the nursing medals to the students, recognizing their hard-earned achievements.
Furthermore, all 99 candidates who took the 65th National Nurse Licensure Exam on January 24 (Friday) successfully passed the exam.
Ewha’s College of Nursing, established in 1955 as the first four-year nursing degree program in Korea, has led the advancement of nursing education in the country. The college has continuously evolved and contributed to the nursing field, through establishing the global health nursing major in 2014, obtaining certification from the Korean Accreditation Board of Nursing Education (KABON) in 2022, and celebrating the 120th anniversary of Ewha nursing in 2023. With a total of 4,116 nursing graduates, including 97 students in the 2024 academic year, Ewha has been upholding Christian values while training professional nurses equipped with scientific nursing expertise and global leadership in healthcare, and the ability to promote health, prevent disease, restore well-being, alleviate suffering, and enhance overall patient care.
