Division of Kinesiology & Sports Studies professor Hong Eunah, the first Korean to receive the ‘Study UK Alumni Awards’

Division of Kinesiology & Sports Studies professor Hong Eunah has been awarded ‘The 8th Study UK Alumni Awards.’
The leaders who make positive contributions to their nation, industry, and local community on the basis of their studies in the UK, are selected for the final candidate and winner of the ‘Study UK Alumni Awards.’ In the 2021-2022 Global Alumni Awards, 1,500 candidates applied for the following four fields △Science and Sustainability △Culture and Creativity △Social Action △Business and Innovation.
At ‘The 8th Study UK Alumni Awards,’ where South Korea first participated as the awards ceremony hosting country, professor Hong Eunah was chosen as the very first Korean awardee.
Professor Hong Eunah, who has been selected for the Culture and Creativity field, received her doctor's degree at Loughborough University, and she is now teaching sports administration · policy at our school’s Division of Kinesiology & Sports Studies. Professor Hong holds the record for the youngest FIFA referee in the country, the first Korean referee to take charge of the opening game of a FIFA tournament, the first non-European referee to blow the whistle at the FA Women’s Cup final in England and etc. She also officiated in several international championships, such as the Olympics(2008 Beijing, 2012 London), Asian Games(2006 Doha, 2010 Guangzhou) and etc.
