Ewha held a signing ceremony to cooperate with the Asian University for Women (AUW) to expand research opportunities and educate global women with talent.

The MOU established that the two universities will exchange faculty and students, and Ewha will allocate one Ewha Global Partnership Program (EGPP) scholarship each year to a student nominated by AUW. EGPP gives a full scholarship, stipend, and airfare to students from developing countries in Asia and Africa.

AUW is an educational institute founded in 2008 to provide education to women in Asian countries- where there has been war, food shortages, and discrimination-, and ultimately to change and improve the society to which women belong. The university offers free education at both undergraduate and graduate levels to selected women from developing countries in Asia and the Middle East.

Sun-Uk Kim, the President of Ewha; Cherie Blair, the Chancellor of AUW; Fahima Aziz, the Vice Chancellor of AUW; and Young-Joon Kim, the Chair of the AUW Support Foundation, gathered together for the signing ceremony. During the meeting, they agreed to strengthen cooperation in various academic fields such as Law and Women’s Studies, where such expertise is needed.

Ewha has strengthened its status as a ‘Global Hub for Women’s Education’ through this MOU, and will continue to pursue its calling- the humanization of women around the world- which it has practiced successfully over the past 127 years.
