Ewha Newly Opens Classes that Provide Series of Special Lectures of the Leaders

Ewha has newly opened two classes for students that provide series of special lectures of the leaders of today. The two classes are ‘Meeting the Leaders of Today’ which is composed of series of lectures of the leaders of various fields and 'Special Lectures on Culture and Arts' which is composed of lectures of best professionals in culture and arts.

Ewha students will have the opportunity to learn from the leaders of various fields including academics, politics, business, culture, and arts as the lecturers share their specialties and experiences throughout these classes. The classes are of 1 credit per semester and total of four hundred students have registered for these two classes.

The class 'Meeting the Leaders of Today‘ initiated its first class with the special lecture of president Bae-Yong Lee. She gave a lecture titled 'Future Leadership and Historical Consciousness’ and talked about creative leadership putting Queen Sunduk and King Sejong as good models.

"I hope these classes will make a good opportunity to share the rich experiences, in-depth knowledge, and unique values of the leaders with the students," said president Lee as she started the lecture.

Leading figures including Ewha president Lee Bae-Yong as well as the movie director Lee Gwang-Mo, the president of KonKuk University Oh Myung, GyeongGi-do provincial governor Kim Moon-Soo, Mountain Climber Oh Eun-Sun will give lectures in the lecture 'Meeting the Leaders of Today.'

'Special Lectures on Culture and Arts' is consisted of lectures of the best professionals in the culture and art fields including the director of Ewha Womans University Museum Kim Bo-Hee, director of National Museum of Contemporary Art Bae Soon-Hoon, director of National Museum of Korea Choe Kwang-Shik, Photographer Kim Jung-Man, actor Ahn Sung-Kee, architecture Seung Hyo-Sang. Students will have more opportunity for a closer look at culture and art through this class.

Kim Kwang-Mi(Law, 04), who is taking 'Meeting the Leaders of Today‘ class showed anticipation and said, "This is the last semester for me and I thought it would be a valuable experience to meet the successful leaders of today in class. I expect to learn from the leaders what distinguishes them from general people."

Opening the two classes was a part of 'Ewha Renaissance Project', which Ewha has proceeded since 2008 to nurture future leaders armed with cultural literacy and humanistic values.
