1,760 Ewha Graduates, Heading Toward the Wider World

Class of 2008 Fall(2nd) Commencement was held at Welch-Ryang Auditorium, on August 28th (Friday 10:00 AM). Ewha has conferred 1,760 degrees including 888 bachelor‘s, 800 master’s, and 72 doctoral degree.

President Bae-Yong Lee said during the ceremony, "The opportunity is given to those who dream of it. We hope you perform the positive and passionate power and the warm and truthful leadership as you go out into the world."

Among the graduates, two students who were conferred a master's degree and the first doctoral degree of EGPP(Ewha Global Partnership Program) attended the commencement. EGPP was initiated in 2006 to foster women from developing countries with full scholarship as a commemoration project of Ewha's 120th Anniversary.

The first EGPP doctor, Wahhida Shumi(31, Bangladesh) will go back to her home country and teach environmental micro-biology at Chittagong University, one of the most prestigious universities in Bangladesh. Pei Gu(29, China), who has been conferred masters degree in Communication is planning to build her career in China. Pei Gu said, "I was able to learn a lot from the students from all over the world while I studied in Ewha. I will do my best to become a true global leader armed with various knowledge and experiences."
