3,732 Ewha Graduates, Become Salt and Light of the World

2008 Commencement Held
The 2008 commencement was held at Welch-Ryang Auditorium, on February 23th (Monday 2:00 PM). Ewha has conferred 3,732 degrees including 2,628 bachelors, 1,037 masters, and 77 doctors degree.
President Bae-Yong Lee said in her speech during the ceremony, "Although we are in the midst of a difficult time, as long as we have dreams, the world is worth challenging and opportunities come to those who take on challenges" and added, "Sustain the ideals and dreams which are the privileges of the young. Become the essential ones of our world like salt and light.
Among the graduates, the first three graduates of EGPP(Ewha Global Partnership Program) attended the commencement. They are Mutinda Adelide(Kenya), Nubrida Pschasajanasttu(Indonesia), and Kamaruddin Nurliana(Malaysia). They've finished the undergraduate course in just three years. EGPP was initiated in 2006 to foster women from developing countries with full scholarship as a commemoration project of Ewha's 120th Anniversary.
Mutinda Adelide, who was the first foreign regular student of Ewha three years ago, looks back on the first day of Ewha. "I was so excited and full of dreams to have the opportunity to study at Ewha. Although it was not easy competing with the Korean students who are always studying so hard, thanks to the support and good friends I earned at Ewha, I could finish my study."
