University-Industry Collaboration Foundation and the Medical Center Co-hosted the 8th Ewha Medi-tech Forum

The venue for discussing the future vision of Ewha medi-healthcare
University-Industry Collaboration Foundation (President: June Seong Yi) successfully co-hosted the 8th Ewha Medi-tech Forum with the Ewha Womans University Medical Center (Ewha Medical Center) at the Auditorium on the second floor underground of Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital (Ewha Seoul Hospital) on December 12th (Tue).
The forum, which first took place in 2018, was a venue for lectures and discussions on the present and future of Ewha Medi-health Cluster by many researchers and experts from the University-Industry Collaboration Foundation, Center for Entrepreneurship, Medical Center, College of Medicine, and ELTEC College of Engineering at Ewha Womans University.
Panel discussion: the third session of the 8th Ewha Medi-tech Forum
The forum began with lectures on the “Vision to Global Bio·Healthcare Hub ‘MHC,’” followed by presentations under the theme “From Academic Research to Bio-Health Companies” before the panel discussion. In the panel discussion session, the main actors of Ewha Medi-health Cluster shared thoughts on their roles and missions in Ewha Medi-health Cluster. The actors include Ewha Womans University, Ewha Womans University Medical Center, Seoul Business Agency, and businesses in Magok M-valley.
“I hope this forum can be an opportunity for everyone to clarify the vision to become a global bio-healthcare hub, find a way to share their achievements with more people and introduce them to the market, and discuss how such achievements can contribute to the development of the society,” said Eun Mee Kim, president of Ewha Womans University. “I hope this open innovation platform can be created successfully by the cooperation of academia, industry, researchers, and the medical institution and become an iconic R&BD institution,” she said in her celebratory speech.
“We will briefly make the place for the Ewha Medi-health Cluster in Ewha Seoul Hospital,” said Kyung Ha Ryu, president of Ewha Medical Center. “I hope that place can be a cradle for thriving interdisciplinary R&D by the cooperation of Ewha Medical Center, Ewha Womans University, and M-Valley, and be an instrumental part of the Korean bio-health industry,” she said in her welcome speech.
