Professor Soon Hee Kwon of the Department of Korean Language Education was elected as the 12th president of KASC(the Korean Association Of Speech Communication) in the 41st Regular Academic Conference held at Seoul National University on November 7.
KASC(the Korean Association Of Speech Communication), founded in 1998, is an academic organization specializing in speech and speech education. It has published ‘Journal of Speech Communication,’ which is listed by the National Research Foundation of Korea, contributing to the development and practice of the theory and research of speech. It has also improved the quality of speech education.
Professor Kwon will serve as the president of KASC from February 20201 to January 2023. In her speech, she said that she will spare no effort to promote the theory as well as research of speech and speech education in response to the turbulent social environment. Professor Kwon, a leading scholar in speech education, has been actively engaged in research activities focusing on various academic topics such as speech education and multicultural literacy education since 2014 when She started to work at Ewha.
