Professor Myung Sun Lee of the Department of Health Convergence, awarded a Prime Minister's Commendation

On June 23, 2020, Professor Myung Sun Lee of the Department of Health Convergence from the College of Science & Industry Convergence was awarded a Prime Minister's Commendation at the inaugurationceremony of the Seoul Council of Unification Education Committee and the Seoul Unification Education Research Center, held at the conference hall of Administration Hall, Kookmin University.
Professor Lee received the commendation in recognition of her contribution to the national, societal development by carrying out the Korean reunification movement in the private sector.
Professor Lee emphasized the importance of achieving national consensus on unification and that women should play a role in the process, and passionately conducted seminars and forums on women and Korean unification when she served as the head of the Korean Women's Development Institute. She is currently engaged in various advisory activities on government policy by having served as co-chair of the Research Council on Unification Policy Korea Institute for National Unification, and as a policy advisor at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, and Ministry of Employment and Labor. In addition, as vice-chairman of the alumni association of the Advanced Unification Policy Executive Education Program, she has provided the foundation of human network for the unification centered on leading people of the society.
