Lee AhYoung, a doctoral student in the Department of Child Development at Ewha Womans University (advisor: Lee WoonKyung), received the Grand Prize in the contest “New Policy Ideas from Childcare Field Voices 2025,” hosted by the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education under the Prime Minister’s Office. She was recognized for her policy proposal, “Eliminating Nutrition Blind Spots: Tailored Nutritional Supplement Support for Vulnerable Pregnant Women, Infants, and Young Children.”

Lee shared that, through her coursework in the Department of Child Development, she built a strong academic foundation in comprehensive life-cycle approaches, the developmental importance of early childhood, ensuring equity for diverse family structures, evidence-based policy design, and the integration and utilization of policies supporting children and parents. She noted that these experiences were essential in shaping and refining her policy proposal. She added, “I hope to continue contributing to research and policy development that can provide meaningful and practical support for children and parents.”
