Professor Kim Bong-Soo Receives Academic Encouragement Award at the International Symposium of the Korean Society for Mi N

Professor Bong-Soo Kim of the Department of Food and Nutrition was awarded the Academic Encouragement Award at the International Symposium of the Korean Society for Microbiology and Biotechnology (KMB), held from Wednesday, June 25 to Friday, June 27 at BEXCO in Busan. The Academic Encouragement Award is presented to scientists who have made significant contributions to the advancement of the field of microbial biotechnology through academic accomplishments, such as publications in prestigious international journals and registered patents.
A renowned expert in the microbiome field, Professor Kim has published a total of 90 high-quality research papers and has registered numerous patents related to microbiome-based functional materials and therapeutic candidates. With an h-index of 39 and an i10-index of 70, he is recognized as part of a top-tier global research group and has been selected as this year’s recipient of the Academic Encouragement Award in recognition of his leadership in shaping the future of Korea’s microbiome research.
Professor Kim stated, “I am honored to receive the Academic Encouragement Award. I will continue to train the next generation of scientists and research to elevate the global standing of Korea in the fields of microbiology and microbiome science.”
