Fashion Design Graduate Students Appointed as Full-Time Professors N

Graduate students who majored in fashion design from the College of Art and Design are continuing to be appointed as full-time professors. A total for four graduate students were appointed as full-time professors in the second semester of 2024 and the first semester of 2025.

Kyung-Jin Lee (Class of ’04) obtained both the master’s and doctoral degree from Ewha Womans University (Under the guidance of professor Hye-Yeon Kim) and has been appointed as full-time professor in the fashion design department of Hannam University for the first semester of 2025. She infuses art and fashions and carries on academic and artistic activities focusing on fashion design and fashion communication with digital technology applied. She also has multiple accolades including the ‘Artist of the Year’ awards from the Korean Fashion and Culture Association.
Hye-Seon Lee (Class of ’06) acquired her master’s degree from the University of the Arts London and doctoral degree from Ewha Womans University (Under the guidance of professor Hye-Yeon Kim) and has been appointed as full-time professor in the fashion design department at Dong Seoul University starting this semester. She has been awarded several awards including the ‘Bae Chunbeom Art Award’ and the ‘Artist of the Year’ awards from the Korean Fashion and Culture Association, and is announcing her research activities through solo exhibitions by focusing on sustainable fashion design methodologies such as upcycling and zero-waste .
Kyu-Won Lee (Class of ’04) acquired her master’s degree (Under the guidance of professor Hye-Yeon Kim) and doctoral degree (Under the guidance of professor Seon-Hee Park) at Ewha Womans University and has been appointed as full-time professor in the fashion design business department at Yeonsung University. She has been active as a fashion designer and visual director and has directed creative works in diverse areas such as fashion styling, AI fashion, fashion-space. She also carried on education and research based on practical industry experience.
Yoon-Su Cho acquired her master’s degree at Ewha Womans University majoring in fashion design from the College of Art and Design and doctoral degree from the General Graduate School (Under the guidance of professor Seon-Hee Park) and has been appointed as full-time professor in the global fashion industry major at Hansung University in the second semester of 2024. She has published multiple academic journals as sole author indexed by the National Research Foundation of Korea, such as <Basic Design Art> and <Journal of the Korean Society of Fashion> and is currently active in researching on fashion metaverse and design methodologies.
The continuous appointment of graduate students as full-time professors shows how excellent the university’s Fashion Design major is in both education and research abilities. The fashion design major is committed to fostering female professionals who will carry out leading roles in fashion education and industry for a sustainable society will maintain the educational purpose of being oriented towards art but also search educational ways for new values and application that goes over the traditional boundaries of the fashion industry. The program aims to cultivate innovative talents capable of crossing boundaries and having expertise in various fields such as fashion design, fashion art, fashion branding, fashion communication.
