Professor Rhie Jeong-yeon of College of Pharmacy won the New Outstanding Program Award at the “2024 AACP Annual Meeting”, organized by the Global Education Special Committee of the AACP (American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy).

AACP is the world’s largest academic conference in the field of clinical pharmacy, attended by professors, professional pharmacists, and graduate students from over 60 countries. The event is held annually to discuss important issues related to pharmacy education and the evolving healthcare environment.

Professor Rhie was recognized for her achievements, including the first-ever collaboration in South Korea’s healthcare history with the APhA (American Pharmacists Association) to conduct a “Vaccination Education Certification Program” aimed at pharmacists responding to infectious diseases.

Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, Professor Rhie has been consistently promoting the active participation of the global pharmacist community through virtual lectures and have been working to advance educational innovation project to help overcome the crisis. Additionally, in order to ensure readiness for future crises, such as another pandemic, Professor Rhie implemented the AphA-certified education program with the support from the Korean Pharmaceutical Association and Ewha’s RIPS (Research Institute for Pharmaceutical Sciences). The outcomes of this program were presented at the International Pharmaceutical Federation conference in August 2024.

Professor Rhie stated, “We will make sure to implement international-level education programs centered on Korea’s pharmacy faculty and educators so that we can quickly respond to crisis situations like pandemics, and I will continue to strive for the qualitative improvement of our country’s healthcare services.”
