Ewha Womans University’s Neulbom School Project Team was selected for the ‘2024 2nd Semester Customized Program for the 1st Grade Primary School Students’, supported by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity (KOFAC).

Ewha’s Neulbom School Project has been operating since August at primary schools in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon region. Ewha’s Professor Kim Su-ji of Music Therapy Education, Professor Han Kyung-ah of Integrated Art Therapy, Professor Kim Hyo-jung of Art Education, Professor Shin Ji-hye of Music Education, Professor Lee Mee-hye of Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language, Professor Jung Jong-woo of Biology Education are engaging in this Neulbom School Project.

The Neulbom School Project team was selected last December for the ‘Neulbom School Program Development and Operation Project’, where they developed and implemented professional programs, receiving high satisfaction and recognition from teachers, students, and parents for the program's effectiveness. Based on this experience, the team secured the customized program for the 2nd semester in 2024, operating customized programs in 27 schools in Seoul, 25 in Gyeonggi, and 2 in Incheon. The program focuses on cultural and artistic education, social and emotional development, and creativity and science for 1st-grade students.

A total of 85 participants, including 44 graduate students from the Graduate School of Education, as well as art instructors, music therapists, and art therapists, are involved in operating 10 specialized programs designed to meet the needs of 1st-grade students.

The Neulbom School program, developed by the project team, incorporates the expertise in education and creativity from the resources the Graduate School of Education has, serving as a valuable resource for supporting students’ growth and development in connection with schools and communities. The project team plans to expand the program to all grades in primary schools through the continuous development and operation of Neulbom School programs.
