Venture Ewha Successfully Concluded Overseas Entrepreneurship Training Program

Graduate and undergraduate students from Ewha successfully completed the “Overseas Entrepreneurship Training Program for Public Technology-Based Market-Linked Startup Exploration (referred to as I-Corps Overseas Training)” held from July 8th (Monday) to July 28th (Friday).

The I-Corps Overseas Training, hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Institute for Science and Technology Commercialization and KIC-DC (Korea Innovation Center Washington D.C.), is part of the overseas version entrepreneurship training program. Participants of this program spent 3 weeks at George Washington University in the U.S. and received startup education based on the I-Corps methodology developed by the U.S. NSF. Participants refined their startup ideas, conducted intensive interviews with potential customers and developed their business models by identifying local market’s needs.

During the program, the “Dear My Child” team, which included graduate students Jung Jae-eun and Lee Bo-mi from Ewha, won the Grand Award in the B2C category with their idea of developing an application with customized health support for children. Another team “EarlyUs”, which included students Park Yeo-kyung and Lim Min-ju, won the Grand Award in B2B category with deep learning-based news vendor model providing immediate and accurate solutions between caregivers and elderly.


Moreover, the “Ultimate” team, which included students Lim Ji-min and Ko In-kyung, won the Class Excellence Award with the idea of startup item that can produce allergy-free sausage and ham through material exploration and property control technologies. “Dear My Child” team who won the Grand Prize in B2C category also won the Class Excellence Award. 


Since 2024, Venture Ewha has been selected as a women-specialized node for the “Public Technology-Based Market-Linked Startup Exploration Program”, identifying 60 startups so far, providing support in startup technology, business consulting, and R&D funding (up to 30 million KRW). With a vision to cultivate global startup leaders in the new era, Venture Ewha as a leading institution in global women’s entrepreneurship, continues its efforts to discover and nurture outstanding female entrepreneurs. Director Kim of the Venture Ewha expressed his gratitude, saying, “I appreciate the exploration teams for their dedication and effort in completing this program. I hope this experience will lead to innovation in technology startups.”
