Ewha Womans University successfully hosted the performance-sharing session on August 14, which was held during the “KBO NINE Season 2024”, an ESG industry-academia collaboration program jointly promoted by the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), 10 professional baseball teams, and 25 universities nationwide.

The “KBO NINE Season 2024” is an ESG collaboration program designed for the sustainable development of the KBO League. It involved 10 professional teams and 25 universities' LINC 3.0 and University Innovation Project Units, including Chung-ang University. Over approximately three months, various activities were conducted. Each baseball team invited students to their stadiums and provided mentoring on ESG projects. Participating students explored stadiums, conducted fan interviews, and developed ESG ideas tailored to the needs of each team.

Additionally, online mentoring sessions and ESG lectures were provided to enhance students' understanding of ESG projects. Based on what they learned, around 200 students discussed topics such as 'solving local environmental issues’, 'contributing to the local community’, and 'securing a stable population in local areas’. Mentors from each team provided direct feedback to verify the feasibility and necessity of the proposed ideas, which the students then presented at the performance-sharing session.

In particular, Ewha Womans University, with Sogang, Yonsei, Hongik University, and the Kiwoom Heroes, won the Silver Award by proposing the 'Customized Dome Lunchbox Project at Gocheok Sky Dome’, targeting the cooperation with Guro District's traditional markets to create customized lunchboxes, enhancing the diversity of food and beverages available at the stadium.

Kim Sang-joon, President of the Center for Entrepreneurship, stated, "I am pleased that the KBO NINE Season 2024 allowed universities, teams, and institutions to share their strengths and deepen their understanding of ESG projects. We will continue our efforts to design creative educational programs that students can enjoy and learn from."
