Ewha Womans University Graduate Students Won Top Prizes at Korea Student Startup Week
Ewha Womans University graduate and undergraduate students demonstrated their creativity and innovative ideas and won multiple awards in the fields of public technology-based startup, accompanying the disadvantaged, and discovering new customers BMC at Korea Student Startup Week, held from July 1st to 5th at Seoul Startup Hub.
In the field of public technology-based startup ideas, the 'Synergen' team, including Ewha students Park So-jeong and Byun Ye-seul, won the Grand Prize (President of the National Research Foundation (NRF) of Korea Award) with their idea of an artwork shopping app that connects promising artists with novice collectors interested in art tech.
In the same category, the 'Motion Flow' team (including Ewha students Go Eun-ok, Lee Min-ji, and Lee Bo-ram) and the 'Public Solver' team (including Ewha students Han Yun-hee and Lim Na-kyung) each won Excellence Prize Additionally, the 'Nook' team (including Ewha students Kim Min-ji and Kim Min-jung) and the 'Women to One Man' team (including Ewha student Kim Yoo-sun) each received Encouragement Prize(Chairman of the Korea Entrepreneurship Foundation Award).
In the ‘accompanying the disadvantaged’ category, the 'C1 Team 1' (including Ewha student Yoo Da-hee) won the Grand Prize with a responsive kiosk idea for the socially disadvantaged (Changeable Kiosk by AI). The 'C1 Team 3' (including Ewha students Oh Seul-bi, Lee Na-young, and Lee Seo-yeon) received an Encouragement Prize.
Furthermore, in the customer discovery BMC category, the 'Self-cultivation' team, including Ewha student Jang Chae-min, won the Encouragement Prize, showcasing their high entrepreneurial capabilities.
The Korea Student Startup Week aims to bridge the gap in entrepreneurship education across regions, foster an entrepreneurship-friendly culture, and cultivate challenging entrepreneurs. The event is hosted by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Ministry of Science and ICT, and Seoul Metropolitan Government, and organized by the Startup Education Innovation Leading University (SCOUT) project group, the Korea Entrepreneurship Foundation, and the Laboratory-specialized Startup Leading University (consortium).
Ewha continues its efforts to discover and nurture student startup teams aspiring to become excellent female entrepreneurs as a global leading institution for women's entrepreneurship. Kim Sang-joon, head of Ewha's Startup Support Group, stated, "We achieved good results through both the university's comprehensive student startup support programs and the efforts of our students. We will continue to create an entrepreneurship-friendly atmosphere and provide ongoing unreserved support for student startup activities."
