Thailand is one of the countries with the highest demand for Korean language education, and since 2018, Korean has been included as a subject in the PAT (Professional and Aptitude Test) college entrance exam. It requires the enhancement of Korean language teachers' competencies and expertise. In response, the Korean Education Center in Thailand, in collaboration with Ewha and Chulalongkorn University, is conducting the Korean Language Teacher Training Program for Thai primary and secondary school teachers. This program includes a non-degree Korean language teacher training course at a Thai university and a study visit to Korea for outstanding participants. This program marks the third year.

From July 8th (Monday) to 16th (Tuesday), a total of 15 outstanding Korean language teachers who were selected among those who completed the teacher training course at Chulalongkorn University in 2024, will participate in a nine-day study visit program in Korea. The program will include Korean language teaching method and Korean culture lectures, teaching practice, cultural experiences, and a Gyeongju tour.

Professor Park Sun-hee of Ewha, who is responsible for this project, expressed her satisfaction, stating, “I am please that we can host the study visit program again this year. I hope this program provides Korean language teachers in Thailand with practical knowledge about Korean language education and offers them an opportunity to deeply experience Korean culture. Furthermore, I hope they return to Thailand with a passion for Korean language education and contribute to the advancement of Korean language education in Thailand.”
