College of Nursing Held the 2024 New Student Orientation

College of Nursing (Dean: Younhee Kang) held the 2024 New Student Orientation at Lee San Bong Hall in the ECC on February 20th, Tuesday. The three-session event for familiarizing students with university life was attended by around 130 people, including new students, student government, and faculty members.
The first session was hosted by Associate Dean Suk-Sun Kim and proceeded in the following order: singing a song of praise, reading the Scripture, prayer by Professor Sung-Heui Bae, welcome speech by Dean Younhee Kang, the introduction of faculty members and researchers, and explanations about the history, curriculum, and academic goals of Ewha College of Nursing.
Dean Kang said, “I welcome all the students who entered Korea’s first nursing education institution, Ewha College of Nursing” and encouraged new students to “learn as much as you can with open-mindedness and foster your leadership as a nurse at the College of Nursing” in her welcome speech.
The second and third sessions were hosted by Jihye Park and Jin-a Choi, leaders of Plus, the nursing student government. In the second session, students could learn about campus life in general, such as scholarships, benefits for students, and tips for successful course registration. In the third session, the participants of the event all moved to Room 116 in Helen Hall. New students were introduced to the student government and student clubs in the College of Nursing before going on a tour of the Ewha Nursing Advanced Clinical Training and Simulation Center. Students also had a chance to play games to acquaint themselves with fellow incoming students and existing students and improve their sense of belonging and pride as students of the College of Nursing.
