Han Sooyeon, a Computer Science major, received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award at the first Convenience Promotion Day event held on May 12th at the Glad Hotel in Yeouido.

Her company, UniUni, was recognized for its innovative solutions applying technology to analyze behavior patterns through non-identifiable data. The company’s SAVVY AI solution for restroom use detects emergencies such as accidents or abnormal behavior in real-time, notifying administrators and significantly enhancing safety in public spaces that used to be blind spots due to privacy concerns. UniUni's technology plays a crucial role in reducing societal blind spots, and such contribution resulted in the recognition and honor of receiving the Minister of Health and Welfare Award.

The inaugural Convenience Promotion Day event in 2024, hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and organized by the Korea Disabled People's Association's Disability Convenience Enhancement Technology Support Center, aimed to raise national awareness of facilities for convenience, ensuring safety and comfort in daily life for all citizens including the disabled, elderly, and pregnant women. Related officials and awardees participated.

Han Sooyeon, CEO of UniUni, stated, "This award shows the significance of UniUni’s technology and mission and its meaning in our society, as an important milestone. Going forward, we will continue focusing on developing sustainable convenience and enhanced solutions for everyone by applying universal design principles."
