[Office of General Affairs] Graduation Gown Rental Notice for Fall 2024 Commencement Ceremony 


Congratulations your Graduation!


Office of General Affairs will provide graduation gown rentals as outlined below. Please note that no exceptions will be made to the schedule, so students wishing to rent a gown must read and follow the information carefully.


1. Eligibility: Students expected to receive a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree end of this semester, at 2025.8.29.(Fri)

a. Students expected to receive a doctor’s degree: Gowns must be prepared individually. You may either purchase a gown from a rental company(Chunchusa)  or participate in a group rental organized by the Graduate Student Government Association. For more information, please refer to the Graduate Student Government Association website or contact each graduate school office.

b. Ineligible for Rental:

· Students who have already graduated

· Students expected to graduate in February 2026 (2025 Spring Commencement 

Ceremony)


2. How to Apply

a. Application Period:

August 4, 2025(Mon) 10:00 AM – August 8, 2025(Fri) 11:00PM

b. Application Method: EUREKA > My home > Academic affairs > Graduation > 학위복대여신청


3. Rental Fee and Deposit

4.  Payment

a. Payment Deadline: Within one week from the date of rental application, by 11:00 PM

b. Deposit Account: Individual virtual account assigned to each applicant

c. Payment Method: After applying for the gown rental, deposit the total amount into your designated virtual account within the payment period

  1) Virtual accounts cannot receive deposits on weekends or public holidays. It is recommended to pay on the day of application (re-application is not possible after expiration).

  2) The specific payment period can be checked in the ‘학위복대여신청’ menu 

  (EX: If you apply on August 5, payment is accepted until August 12, 11:00 PM. if you apply on August 8, payment is accepted until August 14, 11:00 PM (note that payment is not possible on public holidays, such as August 15).

  3) Each applicant is assigned a different account number. The bank and account holder do not matter.

  4) If payment is not made within the deadline after applying, the application will be automatically canceled—no separate action or confirmation is required.

d. How to Check Payment Status

  1) Menu: EUREKA > My home > Academic affairs > Graduation > 학위복대여신청 

  2) How to Check: If the deposit date is shown on the payment date, the payment is complete.


5.     Rental and Return

The rental and return periods vary by each graduate school, so please contact your graduate school office and follow their instructions.

a. Rental and Return Location: Designated locations for each college (or graduate school)

b. Rental Period: From August 22 (Fri) to August 29 (Fri) (excluding weekends), within the period designated by each college (or graduate school)


※ Whether gowns can be rented on the day of the Commencement Ceremony(August 29) depends on each college (or graduate school), so please inquire at your graduate school office.

c. Return Period: By the return date designated by each college (or graduate school)
 

  1) From September 3 (Wed), only “on-site return” to the rental company(Chunchusa) is available

  2) Late returns: A late fee of 3,000 KRW per day will be charged (weekends and public holidays excluded)

  3) In case of loss or damage: Compensation will range from 1,000 KRW (loss of tassel) to 300,000 KRW (loss of gown or the entire set), depending on the extent

  4) If returned after September 16 (Tue), the deposit will not be refunded regardless of the remaining period


d. Rental and return can be handled by a representative (family, friend, etc.) by presenting the original student ID or a photo of it

e. If you do not pick up your graduation gown after applying and paying, the full amount deposited (rental fee + deposit) will be refunded in mid-September


※ Separate or early refunds due to personal reasons (such as leaving the country, employment, or account closure) are not permitted


6. Deposit Refund

a. Refund Schedule: Mid-September 2025

b. Refund Account: The account entered in ‘Account Information’ (계좌정보)

  1) Menu: EUREKA > Academic Affairs > Student Information > Personal Information Change > Account Information (계좌정보)

  2) If you wish to change the refund account, please update it directly in the system.

  3) By Thursday, August 28, please check and update your account information and a valid mobile phone number for deposit refund.

  4) The account must be maintained until the deposit is refunded.


c. If refund is not possible due to errors in the student’s account

  1) Notification will be sent once per day, up to three times, via text or email to the mobile phone number or email address registered in the portal.

  2) If there is no response after the notifications, the deposit will remain with the school.


7. Compliance Matters


a. The application and return period for Graduation Gown Rental cannot be extended under any circumstances.

b. The Graduation Gown must be returned


c. If not returned, issuance of all certificates will be restricted. In the case of a master’s degree, the department and academic advisor will be notified.
