Ewha Hosts Tech-Biz EWHA 2023 to Gather Promising Technologies

The Ewha University-Industry Collaboration Foundation (EUICF) hosted Tech-Biz EWHA 2023 to facilitate the commercialization of Ewha’s promising future technologies and to promote industry-academic collaboration, at 2 p.m. on December 6, 2023 (Wed.) at Lee Sam-bong Hall of the ECC building.

Tech-Biz EWHA has been held every year since 2021 to showcase Ewha’s technologies, patents, and research outcomes while facilitating technology transfers and commercialization through networking with corporations. This year, about 20 latest technologies were newly showcased at the event, including convergence research conducted with other universities as well as core technologies developed by Ewha. In addition, the event introduced the subsidiaries of Ewha’s technology holdings and around 200 EWHA Tech-Net companies in partnership with Ewha, firmly establishing itself as a venue for industry-academic cooperation networking where a variety of researchers and companies interested in the commercialization of technology gather together.

The event presented outstanding promising technologies developed by Ewha faculty members based on Ewha’s research capacity in fields such as surgical robots, deep learning, quantum computers, artificial intelligence, tele-education, mRNA vaccines, antibody libraries, and brain health. Subsequently, Ewha’s convergence research partners, namely Konkuk University and Gyeongsang National University, announced their technological outcomes, followed by introductions of the subsidiaries of Ewha’s technology holdings and Ewha’s corporate partners of EWHA Tech-Net. In addition, the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) introduced its major corporate support projects, and a one-to-one technology partnering segment was held for companies that had previously applied for consultations.

Ewha has more than 2,000 outstanding patents in various industries from advanced bio, artificial intelligence, semiconductors and displays, next-generation communications, and hydrogen to quantum. Through the EUICF, Ewha provides active support throughout the overall process of commercializing technologies that are developed based on Ewha’s outstanding research results, in areas such as intellectual property creation, technology transfers, and startup foundation. In particular, Ewha supports technology commercialization in line with corporate demand and contributes to the vitalization of technology-related communication between universities and companies by operating Ewha Value-up, a customized technology commercialization support program, and EWHA IP-Marketplace Platform (EPM), a technology information platform linked to the Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service (KIPRIS) database of the Korean Intellectual Property Office. Meanwhile, Ewha is also working on maximizing the value of research results, for example, by supporting the foundation of subsidiaries through Ewha’s technology holdings and operating the corporate membership program EWHA Tech-Net.
