Fall Semester Opening Party with the President
Ewha organized “We love Ewha: It’s the President’s Treat!,” an event giving out pizza to more than 2,000 students, at the front of the Welch-Ryang Auditorium on September 1 (Thu.) starting at 11:30 a.m. Held with a sponsorship donation from the pizza franchise Papa Johns, the event welcomed the return of students for the new semester after three years of absence and cheered on their active campus life.
Pizzas were freshly baked at the food truck standing at the front of the Welch-Ryang Auditorium. With Vice President Kwi Cheon Park, Associate Vice President Kyoung Ok Seol, and staff members of the Office of Student Affairs, President Eun Mee Kim personally served a hot slice of pizza to students. In particular, the Office of Student Affairs demonstrated its thoughtful consideration by offering plant-based pizzas for vegan students. Students clamored in joy and asked for selfies with President Kim as she handed out pizzas, which she graciously accepted while passing on her best wishes for the new semester.
President Kim said, “I am very pleased to start the new semester with a joyful event involving our students,” and gave a supportive message to students, saying “our students have been eagerly looking forward to this semester with full face-to-face classes, and I hope that we can all work together to make this a safe and joyful semester.”
As the 2022 fall semester is to take place with full face-to-face classes for the first time in three years since the outbreak of COVID-19, Ewha plans to carry out various student participation events, along with guest lectures with global leaders and the Ewha Career Development Center’s career programs, in order to help students enjoy college life and broaden their experiences.
