Ewha held a flashmob event on November 26 to facilitate the production of a 15m x 10m supersize QR code for the ‘School me’ campaign and to support African girls who were deprived of educational opportunities due to early marriage, domestic duties, and poverty. Joint efforts by Ewha and Save The Children, an international non-governmental organization made it possible for this event to come to fruition.

The documented process of the creation of the QR code and the recorded message from students who participated in this flashmob event will be sent to Kimoon Ban, the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Malala Yousafzai, the youngest ever Novel peace prize laureate.

The spirit of the ‘School Me’ campaign, which was initiated last year by the Bell of Ewha event at the ECC valley, concurs with Ewha's mission and legacy to educate women towards empowering environments. Ewha's mission and legacy was proved by its own history. The facility started with only one student 128 years ago but has since progressed to the largest women's university in the world. Ewha has accomplished a series of unique and outstanding achievements showcasing the power of educating women and hopes to continue to deliver a brighter future for African girls through this campaign.
