President Choi Kyunghee and the Korea Society Discuss Promoting Exchange

Ewha President Choi Kyunghee met the visiting group from the Korea Society at the reception room of Pfeiffer Hall on the morning of October 10. They discussed methods on promoting exchange between the two organizations and extending cooperation in the field of education.
Upon the proposal of General James A. Van Fleet, who fought in the Korean War, the Korea Society was founded in 1957 by a group of prominent Americans as a nonprofit organization to promote mutual understanding and friendly relations between the U.S. and Korea. Today the organization is led by Thomas Hubbard, a former U.S. ambassador to Korea who serves as the chairman of the board, and Mark C. Minton, a former Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul who serves as president.
President Choi said that she welcomed American students who were participating in Ewha’s international exchange programs through the Korea Society and that she hoped such programs would be expanded further in the future.
