Early Admissions Application for 2015 Closes with High Competition at Average Ratio of 15.9:1

The application period for early admissions into Ewha in 2015 closed at 19:00, September 15. A total of 29,690 prospect students applied for the full acceptance capacity of 1,871, thereby recording a high competition rate at 15.9 to 1 on average and marking an increase by 6,770 applicants over the previous year (22,920 applicants for an acceptance capacity of 1,591, average competition rate of 14.4:1).
By academic department, some of the highest competition rates stood at 125.1:1 for the Department of Pre-Medicine, 87.6:1 for the Department of Elementary Education, 39.1:1 for the Division of Molecular Life and Chemical Sciences, and 36.1:1 for the Scranton College. In particular, the Department of Pre-Medicine showcased Ewha’s reputation and competitiveness with a historical high rate of 125.1:1.
The Dean of Admissions remarked, “This year’s trend of applicants for Ewha Womans University showed Ewha’s unwavering competitive edge even in comparison to coeducational universities, and Ewha will continue to uphold its reputation by developing and creating women-friendly and competitive degree programs.”
