Business Incubator to Vitalize Startup-friendly Culture

Ewha recently held the opening ceremony for its Business Incubator, a leading business platform that will support startups and aspiring entrepreneurs. The center operates programs for those preparing to start a business or for newly created companies. It provides facilities, meeting space, and managerial and technical support to facilitate successful enterprise.
The Business Incubator will nurture newly created companies, find people preparing to start businesses, support student start-ups and startup clubs, as well as find and nurture promising ventures. The center will also support residential companies in the fields of technology, management, marketing, and tax affairs.
The center was established as a venue to nurture startup business enterprises specializing in cultural content as Ewha was selected as a recipient of the Business Incubator Construction Support Project, sponsored by the Small and Medium Business Administration, for which it received funding of 1.5 billion won in 2012. Since the end of April 2014, before its official opening, a total of six companies started their operations at the center.
To vitalize a startup-friendly culture at the university, Ewha provides special benefits for its students. The university provides students preparing to start their own business or participating in startup clubs with offices free of charge in addition to offering up to a 50 percent discount for residential deposits and rent for a maximum of one year for qualified applicants.
