On Friday, August 31, at 10:00am, Ewha held the graduation ceremony for the 2011 academic year at the School’ auditorium. A total of 1,726 women students received their degrees, with 903 bachelor, 721 master, and 102 doctoral degrees conferred.

Dr.jur. Kim Sun-Uk, President of Ewha, commended the graduates, saying "Ewha is founded on the values of caring and justice, based on the Christian spirit of sharing and serving. Young women of your age require the expertise and confidence, tolerance and  sense of responsibility to be true intellectuals able to make a difference.“ Today's graduation ceremony will be a small knot in your life as you go on to the next step which you have prepared for over the past four to ten years of accomplishments at Ewha."

Those who could not attend the graduation ceremony were able to watch it during a live broadcast on YouTube Edu, Ewha Womans University’s branded site (youtube.com/ewhauniv).

During this year’s convocation, the honor of wearing the graduation cap was given to deaf Ewha alumna Lee Young Joo (Environmental Engineering, ‘08). The graduation ceremony reflected the diversity of Ewha, as masters and doctoral degrees were given to four graduates of the EGPP (Ewha Global Partnership Program) hailing from Nepal, Vietnam, Thailand, Mongolia. EGPP is a full scholarship program designed for degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate students from developing countries.
