Opening Ceremony for Korea Advanced Institute of Women Held
Ewha held the opening ceremony for Korea Advanced Institute of Women in Science, Engineering & Technology(KAI-WISET) on February11 at Ewha Samsung Cultural Building and started systematic support for women talents in science.
KAI-WISET was officially founded on January 3rd integrating all four centers that had been run to foster women talents in science for the last ten years. The centers include Women into Science and Engineering(WISE) Center, Women in Science and Technology(WIST), Women into Engineering(WIE) Program, and Women's Academy for Technology Changer in the 21st Century(WATCH21).
KAI-WISET aims to build a support system throughout the entire professional life-cycle and divides its function into two core fields which are △exploring jobs and job trainings based on the demand of the job market and △fostering important high-quality talents in the science field. It will also deliver strategic policies to expand chances for participation for undergraduate and graduate students into research projects as well as help girls find their talents in science at early stages as early as elementary school to high school.
