Chang Myong-Sue Appointed as the Chairperson at Ewha Hakdang
The board of directors of Ewha Hakdang(Chairperson Yoon Hoo-Jung) appointed Chang Myong-Sue, one of the board members, as the next Chairperson on January 11. Chang has served as a director for Ewha Hakdang since October of 2009 and will inaugurate office on March 2, 2011.
Chang graduated from Ewha Womans University majoring journalism in 1964 and started her career as a journalist at Hankook Daily newspaper. She became the chief editor at Hankook Daily, the first female chief editor in Korea in 1998, and consecutively served as the first female CEO from 1999 to 2002. She has been in an advisory post at the Hankook Daily and still writes biweekly columns in the daily.
Her devotion and commitment in journalism was acknowledged by numerous awards from the senior journalists’ Kwanhun Club, Ewha School, Samsung, and the YWCA to name a few. She holds the honorary doctoral degree from the University of Maryland in 2001.
