2010 Convocation Held for 3,380 Freshmen
Ewha held 2010 convocation ceremony for 3,380 freshmen on February 26 at the Welch-Ryang Auditorium.
The auditorium was filled with pleasant atmosphere, celebrating the new start. 'Snow White and the Brothers', a chorus consisted of male professors sang for the freshmen and elated the excited cheers.
President Bae-Yong Lee said in the ceremonial speech, “You will now enter the time of your life, one of the most important turning points in lifetime. I hope you discover your true self with open mind, enhance your values, learn to exchange with others, and earn the intelligence that will help yourself and neighbors."
Yoo-Song Lee(Elementary Education) and Mapendo Noella Muhamiriza(International Studies) took freshman's oath in the ceremony.
Mapendo Noella Muhamiriza, the scholarship student of Ewha Global Partnership Program, the project initiated to foster women of developing countries, said, "I am very thankful that I was given the chance to learn. I hope to learn a lot in Ewha and contribute to the development of Congo, my home country."
Yi-Hyun Bang(Mathematical and Physical Sciences), revealed her ambition as a freshman and said, "Ewha Womans University was the university I have always dreamed of. Now that I have become a part of Ewha Community, I will enhance my capacity through diligently studying my major Physics and English as well."
