Ewha Ranked Third in the SCI Quality Assessment of Journals
According to the 'Performance Evaluation Report of 2009 National R&D Programs' released by KISTEP(Korea Institute of S&T Evaluation and Planning) on February 4, Ewha has ranked third in the Modified Rank Normalized Impact Factor(mrnIF) following KAIST and POSTECH.
Modified Rank Normalized Impact Factor(mrnIF) is a complementary indicator of 'Impact Factor' that shows deviation among research areas. Ewha has recorded 1.048 mrn Impact Factor while 1.0 is the average level of all journals in the world. The mrnIFs of major countries are 1.066(U.S.), 1.044(U.K.), 0.947(Japan), 0.896(China), and 0.924(Korea).
Ewha has been enhancing the quality of journals and boasting its capacity in the research area through indicators of performance evaluations. In addition to the mrnIF record, Ewha received excellent evaluation from the Korea Research Foundation last year for ranking third in qualitative assessment of journals posted in Science Citation Index and ranking first in the Impact Factor category among Korean universities.
