President Lee Bae-Yong and president Drew Gilpin Faust of Harvard University had a meeting and discussed strengthening exchange cooperation between the two universities. President Lee's visit to Harvard was arranged in response to the invitation from president Faust. This is the second meeting after the first meeting at president Faust's inauguration ceremony in October 2007.

The two presidents discussed various ways to enhance cooperation on international exchanges and shared consensus on the importance of strengthening liberal education.

Ewha Womans University is the only Korean university to participate in Harvard College in Asia Program(HCAP), an exchange program with Asia run by Harvard University founded in 2003 and is also the only Korean university to run Ewha-Harvard Summer School since 2006.

In addition to the visit to Harvard University, president Lee attended ‘the 8th Ewha Alumnae Regular Meeting of North America Region' in Denver, Colorado and 'the 40th International Foundation Council for Ewha Womans University'. More than 300 alumni attended the regular meeting and showed their love and support for Ewha. On November 15, president Lee also met the alumni in Los Angeles. On the same day, 16 Ewha students who were studying at California State University Fullerton, one of the partner university of ‘Ewha in California’ global campus network joined the meeting.
