On Friday, February 28, at 10 AM, Ewha held the 2025 matriculation ceremony at Welch-Ryang Auditorium to welcome a total of 3,819 new students.
In her address, President Hyang-Sook Lee congratulated the new students on embarking on their new journey at Ewha and remarked, “As a leading institution for nurturing global women leaders, Ewha is committed to fostering your growth into individuals with outstanding talents.” She announced that, in line with the vision of “Leading the Era of Great Transformation through Inclusive Innovation,” Ewha plans to build a future-oriented Ewha-specific education model, provide AI training programs tailored to each discipline such as the “AI 4 All Ewha” program, promote human-centric values, and spearhead changes. President Lee encouraged the incoming students to dream big as they prepare for the future, while taking on and overcoming challenges with heartfelt faith in the Ewha Spirit.
The ceremony proceeded with the introduction of key faculty members, a musical performance by the Ewha Brass Ensemble, and a special choral performance by the Ewha male professors’ choir. Student representatives Gyu-won Kim from the College of Pharmacy and Nguyen Le Bao Tran, an Ewha Global Partnership Program (EGPP) scholarship recipient from the College of Business Administration, delivered speeches on behalf of the Incoming Class of 2025, expressing their aspirations to thrive as members of Ewha Womans University. The event concluded with the singing of the school anthem and a benediction.
Following the matriculation ceremony, new students attended “Welcome to Ewha,” a talk-show- style event designed to help them adapt to university life. To commemorate the occasion, the Office of Student Affairs distributed welcome kits to the Incoming Class of 2025, featuring a specially-designed snake plush toy, the I@EWHA guidebook, and various souvenirs.
