Farewell and Inaugural Ceremony for Ewha Presidents

The farewell and inaugural ceremony for Ewha’s 14th president Kim Sun-Uk and 15th president Choi Kyunghee was held in the Kim Young-ui Hall on July 29.
The outgoing president, Kim Sun-Uk, delivered her farewell address to express her reflections on the four-year tenure of her service at Ewha: “Ewha’s vision of becoming the global hub for women’s education was finally established through the past four years in pursuit and implementation of this ambition.”
The incoming president Choi Kyunghee said, “We face the task of envisioning the next century in Ewha’s development, a vision that calls for the wisdom of all within our community.” President Choi added, “I hereby present ‘Innovation Ewha,’ a new slogan to open a whole new era toward Ewha’s bicentennial. This vision will be guided by a spirit of challenge and innovation, bringing together all of our capacities to take Ewha on its path to the top.”
Having begun its endeavor for women’s education 128 years ago, Ewha has since made remarkable achievements, and this ceremony has provided yet another opportunity to reaffirm Ewha’s commitment to new challenges and innovation.
