The Ewha Research Institute for Translation Studies (ERITS, directed by prof. Choi, Mi-kyung) has been selected as the exclusive provider of language services for Pangyo Techno Valley run by the Gyeonggi Institute of Science & Technology Promotion, thereby offering interpretation and translation services in English, Chinese and Japanese in the Start-up Campus of Pangyo Valley for one year from March 2016.
The Start-up Campus is Korea’s largest business incubation center that aims to foster global companies like Google by supporting start-ups’ foundation, investment attraction and overseas expansion. ERITS is expected to serve as a bridge between start-ups and the global market by playing a pivotal role in facilitating communication, an essential element of business, while enabling tenet companies, start-ups, investors and visitors to overcome language barriers. Therefore, three interpreters (Korean-English, Korean-Chinese, and Korea-Japanese) from the Ewha Graduate School of Translation & Interpretation (GSTI) are dispatched as in-house workers and Ewha GSTI faculty members with a wide range of experience and knowledge in information technology interpretation plan to conduct simultaneous interpretation at relevant international events.
