The Ewha Language Center (led by Director Lee Hai-young) held the opening ceremony for the “2016 invitational training course for Korean language teachers from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region” in the Lee San-bong Hall of the ECC building on June 29 (Wed) at 11:00 a.m.
This training, aimed at enhancing the competence of 33 third- and fourth-generation overseas Koreans who teach the Korean language in the CIS region, will be offered for five weeks from June 29 (Wed.) to August 3 (Wed.). The training is a short-term course run as part of the “invitational training project for Korean language instructors from CIS nations” initiated by the Overseas Koreans Foundation.
Apart from this short-term program, the Ewha Language Center also provides the “long-term training course for Korean language instructors from CIS countries.” The long-term course, which has already started on June 13 (Mon.), is slated to last for 12 weeks until September 2 (Fri.), and eight Korean language instructors of Korean descent from five CIS countries are taking the course.
