Ewha Becomes First University in Korea to Conclude MoU with Facebook Korea for Support for Women Entrepreneurs

On June 15, 2016, at 10 AM, in Shinsegae Building RM 611, Ewha entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Facebook Korea to provide educational support for women entrepreneurs in Korea. The MoU was an initiative of Facebook Korea, which sought Ewha’s partnership in launching the ‘#SheMeansbusiness’ program, an online platform to provide networking opportunities and educational support for women business owners in Korea.
Ewha’s International Convention Management Center, in cooperation with Facebook Korea implemented the ‘externship’, a job competency development and university-industrial collaboration program that enabled students experience jobs in the field during the winter vacation in the fall of 2015. The results of the program and competence of Ewha students who participated were rated highly by Facebook Korea, thus propelling them to select Ewha as their sole partner in Korea for this initiative.
The ‘#SheMeansbusiness’ program, which includes educational programs such as basic principles of Facebook Pages and Instagram for business, basic principles of marketing, in-depth training for women entrepreneurs, and management know-how of a Facebook Business page, will help women entrepreneurs enhance their communication capacity and establish various networks. According to the MoU, Ewha will work in tandem with Facebook Korea in areas such as student recruitment and program operations.
