Qiu Guohong, Chinese Ambassador to Korea, Invited for Special Lecture at Ewha

Qiu Guohong, Chinese Ambassador to Korea, was invited to give a special lecture to the audience of 150 Ewha students at the LG Convention Hall of International Studies Building at Ewha Womans University on May 18th, Wednesday at 4:30 PM.

Ambassador Qiu has worked as an expert on East Asian diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of People's Republic of China and in Japan and Nepal over 30 years since 1981. From 2014 onwards, he has been playing an important role in Korea-China relations while serving as Chinese Ambassador to Korea.
As a part of Chinese public diplomacy on the university students, Ambassador Qiu delivered a special lecture titled “Brighter Future of Korea-China Relations” at Ewha. Based on his long experiences as an expert on East-Asian diplomatic issues, Ambassador Qiu mentioned the importance of Korea-China relations, evaluation for the current status of Korea-China relations, and future prospect of Korea-China relations.
Following the lecture, Ambassador Qiu was invited to a dinner hosted by President Choi Kyunghee with major members of university administration at Ewha and discussed diverse measures to promote exchange and cooperation between educational institutions in China and Ewha. Qiu elucidated that he would support Ewha’s entry to China and offered to play the role of a sponsor for the establishment of Ewha Womans University's global office in China. Recently, Ewha opened Ewha Womans University's global office in Shanghai, through which Ewha plans to set up more global offices in Beijing to expand research base, support students’ entrepreneurship, and promote their networks in China.
