Ewha Womans University held the ceremony to mark the completion of session I of 2017 Ewha International Co-ed Summer College at the Lee San-bong Hall of the ECC building at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 18. This four-week session started with a welcoming ceremony on Tuesday, June 20, and over 300 Ewha students and 270 students from abroad attended this course. They completed more than 30 courses in English and Korean language classes available for different levels. They also visited many Korean attractions every Friday such as the Korean Folk Village, DMZ, Lotte World and cooking classes for Kimchi, as well as the House of Sharing where they got an opportunity to learn Korean history by meeting those who served as comfort women during the Japanese colonial rule.

Meanwhile, the session II will be open for two weeks from Tuesday, August 8 through Tuesday, August 22. The attendees of the session can earn three credits by taking the class, Introductory Course in Korean Studies. The session will offer Korean language classes for students at various levels in the morning and special lectures and related field trips in the afternoon.

The International Co-ed Summer College is the nation’s first international summer program, with over 40 years of history and prestige. The program comprises two sessions, with session I running for four weeks from mid-June to mid-July and session II lasting two weeks during August, and is gaining high popularity among overseas students who are eager to learn Korea through the window of Ewha.
