International Conference and Global Campus Job Festa held

Ewha Career Development Center and the Financial Supervisory Service co-hosted the international conference “Challenges to Future Finance” and Global Campus Job Festa on September 3.
The occasions took place for youth to enhance their understanding of the rapidly changing financial paradigm with FinTech innovation, and to access employment opportunities to enter global IT and media content enterprises as well as domestic and foreign financial companies.
At the international conference, which was held at the ECC Theater, key figures from global companies, such as Amazon, Bloomberg, Facebook and Microsoft, introduced examples of advanced future finance utilizing innovative technologies. Beginning with a keynote speech of Scott Mullins, Head of Worldwide Financial Services Business Development at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Taran Khera, Head of Asia Pacific sales at Bloomberg LP, and Connie Leung, Senior Director of the Financial Services and Business lead of Asia at Microsoft, gave an introduction of changes in financial services utilizing innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data. Tomer Barel, Vice President of Facebook, presented an e-wallet solution using cryptocurrency Libra, receiving the audience attention, while Dr. Choi Kwang-shin from the Financial Supervisory Service addressed a new method of measuring financial inclusion index using big data. The event was sent out to all Ewah people on media set up at the Career Lounge, and was broadcast live on YouTube channels of Ewha and the Financial Supervisory Service.
Along with the conference, Global Campus Job Festa, which took place at the Multipurpose Hall and the Lee San-bong Hall of the ECC building, featured job fair booths categorized into three themes: finance, global IT and media contents, and ventures and start-ups. At the ECC Theater, the “Future Finance A.I. Challenge” competition was held along with lectures by guest speakers.
