I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Ewha Womans University. I received my PhD in Sociology and Demography at the University of Pennsylvania. Before joining Ewha, I was an Assistant Professor at New York University Shanghai. As a social demographer and sociologist, I study family, gender, and inequality with quantitative methods. Much of my work adopts a cross-national comparative perspective, with a regional focus on South Korea and other East Asian countries. My work has been published in Social Science & Medicine, Demographic Research, Population Research and Policy Review, and Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion.
