Dr. Sandy (Jeong Yeon) Rhie is an associate professor in College of Pharmacy and act as a pharmacy departement chair in Ewha Graduate School of Clinical Health Sciences. She received her PhD degree from Ewha Womans University and PharmD degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. She is appointed as clinical assistant professor at University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and an adjunct experiential faculty at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Scences. She completed a pharmacy practice residency at Mercy Suburban Hospital in Philadelphia. Until she joined the faculty in Ewha at 2012, she has worked at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania as an inpatient anticoagulation pharmacy specialist. She served as a preceptor to pharmacy students and residents and provided inpatient care of anticoagulation management services, and involved in the preparation of policy and procedure at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Her research interests include factors that influence the variability of anticoagulation drugs, the safe use of direct thrombin inhibitors. With target-specific oral anticoagulants available, she works to assure provision of safe, effective and cost-effective antithrombotic therapy to patient care. She also involves in developing pharmaceutical care model in cardiovascular disease patients. She published related research finding and presented in several conferences. She also participated in publish Pharmacotherapy 3ed, Drug information 4th ed, Applied therapeutics:the clinical use of drugs, Introductory pharmacy experiential education in Korean as an author. She has Ewha Womans Hospital as her practice site and implement impatient anticoagulation pharmacy service and also initiated physician collaborated student rotation program. Not only her medication-related research, but she also focuses on pharmacy students education to grow as health care professionals to understand the current issues and the responsibilities.
