Minsu Park is an assistant professor in the Department of Social Studies Education at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea. As a historian of early modern East Asia, his research focuses on the interactions between different ethnic and geographical boundaries, state formation and empire building, and the relation of state regulations and adaptation in the local societies.
His current book project, based on his dissertation “From ‘Entering the Pass’ to a New Capital: The Qing Migration and Early Rule of Beijing” (Seoul National University, 2017), re-examines the Qing empire-building process and the formation of the new capital Beijing in early 17th century utilizing the Manchu language sources. In addition, he is working on several projects that examine historical relation between the Chosŏn and Qing and serves as an editorial director of the Society for Ming-Qing Historical Studies. 
Before coming to Ewha Womans University, he was a Harvard-Yenching visiting fellow 2015-2016, and a visiting scholar at the Institute of History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing, China from 2012-2013.
