Ewha Central Library (Director: Chung Eun-kyung) was selected as the top institution (Group A) in the “2024 University Library Academic Information Sharing and Distribution Contribution Evaluation” conducted by the KERIS (Korea Education and Research Information Serivce). The library received the KERIS President Award at the “2024 National University Library Contest” held on Thursday, August 29.
KERIS conducts an annual evaluation to promote the sharing and active use of academic information among university libraries. Ewha Womans University’s library received the highest score among Group A institutions (universities nationwide that have continuously awarded doctoral degrees for the past three years) in the comprehensive evaluation of the categories, ‘information system network’, ‘inter-library loan’, and ‘document delivery service’.
On the same day, the library also received the Excellence Award in the operation of the Foreign Academic Journal Support Center. This recognition was based on achieving the highest score in the 2023 Foreign Academic Journal Support Center Program Evaluation this February.
The Central Library has been actively contributing to the social responsibilities of universities through knowledge sharing and has been leading the advancement of library services. In recognition of these efforts, the library received several accolades, including the Minister of Education Award in 2021 (for ranking 1st in the 2020 University Library Evaluation), the National Assembly Award in 2020 (for contributions to academic information sharing and activation), the Korean Library Award in 2019 (for contributions to library development), and selected as the top institution in the Foreign Academic Journal Support Center evaluation for nine consecutive years.
